Polly Bennell
As principal of InterPlay Coaching and Consulting, I work with entrepreneurs, individuals and groups to create purposeful, fulfilling lives and endeavors. I am credentialed as a professional coach, and am a member of the International Coach Federation.
As a business owner, educator and creative artist, I have had experience across a number of disciplines that allows me an unusually broad understanding of what it takes to build a project, a business or a more satisfying life.
As an educator I have been a faculty member at the University of Southern Maine, the Maine College of Art, Vermont College/Norwich University, Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and Ohio University. I have also taught writing workshops both privately and as an adult educator for the Maine Writers and Publishers Association.
As a writer and journalist I have worked in publishing and advertising, both on staff and freelance. I have published in magazines in the United States and Canada and have been a writing coach for numerous published authors.
Films I have written, produced or directed have won national awards, have aired on public radio and television and played in independent theaters. I currently have five films in national and international distribution.
In the area of health and wellness I have had a private psychotherapy practice, worked as an alcohol and substance abuse counselor and trained as a fitness technician. I have conducted weight loss groups as well as stress reduction and mentoring workshops.
I hold degrees from Kent State University (BA in English Literature and anthropology), New York University (MFA in film and television) a certificate of advanced graduate study in family therapy from University of New England and a CPCC (certified professional co-active coach) credential from Coaches Training Institute, which is recognized by the International Coach Federation.
